Be a part of the unpacking and setting up of ‘The Museum of Marvellous Things’ in an interactive musical workshop full of songs, sounds, silliness and surprises. This is an interactive musical workshop for the whole family, led by the cast and creatives of The Museum of Marvellous Things. It’s based on the idea that everyone is a musician and that sounds and rhythms are all around us; all we have to do is harvest them in order to make music.

Join the team as they unpack the wooden museum crates in preparation for their fun-filled actor-musician show. But be prepared for some surprises. Inside the crates there’s a colourful array of magical monsters, all desperate to make music. But what sounds do magical monsters make?  And how can these sounds come together to make a piece of music fit for a Marvellous Museum?

In this 30-minute workshop children will have the opportunity to make their own simple instruments, as well as put a voice to each of the magical monsters. Using body percussion, singing, vocal expressions and their hand made instruments, the museum team will help the children explore sounds, rhythms and song and show them how – with a bit of imagination – they can incorporate everything magically into a piece of marvellous music.

So, come on in! Let the magic begin!
