A month of creative activities for children, young people, and families over the summer holidays
From singing to dancing, crafting to musicals and everything in between, Summer Fun is back with creative activities for young people and families of all ages between Monday 29th July and Friday 23rd August 2024.
Explore your interests or try something new across a range of workshops, concerts and activities using our programme drop-down menu below.
Parental / guardian consent forms for children and young people participating in these activities must be completed prior to the event. Consent forms will be sent shortly after your booking has been processed by our team.

Activity Programme
Whether you were born to perform or are completely new to the stage, this workshop is for you! Five days that are jam-packed with singing, acting, and dancing, where we rehearse a show-stopping mystery musical. This culminates in a performance for your friends and family to enjoy on the last day, complete with costumes and props!

All children are welcome to party with their favourite princesses with dances from popular fairy tales including Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and Rapunzel. With colourful props and costume accessories provided for the children to wear and creative dances inspired by princess stories. Fancy dress encouraged!

For all fans of Barbie, we’ll be trying lots of dances inspired by different versions of this iconic doll including Beach Barbie, Fashion Barbie and Disco Barbie! Children get to learn actions set to songs from the hit film too, including ‘Dance the Night’ and create their own dances with all pink props provided, completed by a short performance at the end of the Dance Party for families!

To celebrate the year of the Dragon, join Fidgety Feet for a fun-filled adventure with a poorly baby dragon and her journey to find her lost roar. A chaotic trip to the vets ensues where we meet other zodiac characters including some very cheeky monkeys, a grumpy goat and a hungry snake! Using puppets, props, and musical instruments, we immerse ourselves in this world of unusual pets.

Join Music for Miniatures on a whimsical adventure into the enchanting world of “The Owl and The Pussycat” by Edward Lear, brought to life with live classical music, charming puppets, interactive storytelling, and a sprinkle of silliness! This delightful performance invites young audiences to embark on a magical journey alongside the beloved characters as they set sail in a beautiful pea-green boat.

Little Piccolos teach the fundamentals of music in a fun and engaging class for babies, toddlers and preschoolers. The class is based on the Kodaly method and taught by trained musicians. Little ones will learn about pitch, tempo, dynamics and more. The class will include original songs, instruments, moving to music, props and puppets.

Do you love musicals such as Six, Chicago, Hamilton and West Side Story? Do you want to perform some of the best musical numbers from these shows complete with awesome harmony singing, dance routines and costume? Then this two-day intensive course is for you! We will develop our vocal techniques and harmonising skills, plus learn some awesome routines that everyone can participate in. We will add dialogue to lead us in and out of our musical numbers. We will then perform our ‘Showstoppers’ to an audience on the WMC Auditorium stage in full costume!
