Find out all about what happened at our very first charity Musical Bingo night!
On Wednesday 23rd October, Wiltshire Music Centre was buzzing with excitement, laughter and a whole lot of fantastic music and classic tunes for our very first charity Musical Bingo night! The centre was packed with guests eager to test their tune spotting skills, as well as supporting the work we do in keeping the arts alive in a rural community and supporting youth music education.
Guests were welcomed with a delicious glass of fizz kindly donated by The Great Wine Company, kicking off the festivities and setting the tone for a lively evening. The energy was high as everyone settled in, and bought supper from local pasta kings Feast Brothers’ food truck.
The games began at 7pm, and the audience were introduced to the evening’s gold-sequinned jacket wearing compere, MC Dabber, our Musical Bingo Assistant, Emily, and our house band, FLQ. We played a short warm up round to get our audiences’ ears open and ready, before going headfirst into our first game of Musical Bingo.
Instead of the usual numbers, our bingo cards were filled with song titles, and so as each track of music from the past six decades played, guests would listen closely and mark off any matching titles on their cards. We played a total of four games, with audience members playing for a ‘line’ (5 correct titles) or a ‘full house’ (15 correct titles). The final round was a sing-along round, with the audience eagerly belting out classic tunes that filled the Auditorium with energy and joy. It was amazing to see how competitive everyone got – everyone’s ears were tuned in, and the room was buzzing with excitement!
Our house band, FLQ, stole the show with two high-energy musical intervals, including a conga line into our Foyer at the start of the show interval. They had the crowd singing along, and by the end of the night, everyone came together on the stage to dance, creating an unforgettable end to the evening. But FLQ weren’t the only ones who dazzled the room – guests also brought their A-game for our ‘Best Dressed’ competition. There were plenty of recognisable pop stars and shimmering sequins, with the winner walking away with a special prize (and some style points too!).
A huge thank you goes out to our donors for the evening. We couldn’t have pulled this off without our fabulous donors, who provided some very tempting prizes for our lucky winners. Here’s what was up for grabs:
- A £30 voucher for Sweat Pea Kitchen at The Weaving Shed in Bradford on Avon
- A £30 voucher towards a treatment with Hands On Therapia at the Garden Therapy Studio in Trowle Common
- An express neck and shoulder massage at Vitality Day Spa in Bradford on Avon

- A £20 voucher for Iford Manor Café & Kitchen in Iford
- A main meal for two and a bottle of house wine from The Castle Pub in Bradford on Avon

With all the enthusiasm and support of our guests, we’ve almost reached our £1,000 fundraising target for the evening. Your generosity will go towards keeping the centre alive and bringing world-class events to the area, while providing a hub for local community groups from Bradford on Avon and beyond. A big thank you goes to everyone who took part, dressed up, and joined in the fun! There’s still time to donate using the donation slider below:
