Formed at the Turin Conservatory, Trio Concept – formerly known as Trio Chagall – are prolific competition winners including First Prize at the Schoenfield International String Competition. As a part of their inaugural UK tour, these emerging Italian prodigies will take to the WMC stage with a lively programme featuring Robert Schumann’s stormy Piano Trio No 1.
Trio Chagall recently changed their name to Trio Concept, saying that they wish “to emphasize the cohesion of an artistic journey spanning over a decade, centered on the idea of the trio as the core of their musical activity and a constant source of creative inspiration. The new name is inspired by Michelangelo Buonarroti’s words, reflecting the trio’s artistic commitment: to seek out and present the beauty inherent in every work, which comes to life through performance, just as the sculptor reveals the perfect form within a block of marble.
