Part TED talk, part history lecture, part folk club sing-a-long, this show tells the tale of land rights and protest in folk song and story

A history of land rights and protest in folk song and story, the show connects the Norman Conquest and Peasants’ Revolt with current issues like the housing crisis, reparations, climate breakdown and food sovereignty via the Enclosures, English Civil War and Industrial Revolution, drawing a compelling narrative through the radical people’s history of England in folk song, stories and poems. Come and share in these tales as they have been shared for generations.

Accessible to All

With Pay It Forward Tickets, you can help someone on a lower income attend the event. Simply pay a little extra for your ticket, and help subsidise tickets for those who may need the financial support.

Supported Tickets are a lower-cost option for those who might not otherwise be able to attend. If financial constraints are holding you back, select these tickets, no questions asked.

The Wild Waters Festival 31st May – 15 June 2025

3 Acres + a Cow is being performed as part of the Wild Waters Festival, which is taking place between 31st May and 15th June 2025. The festival is a series of curated events, celebrating nature and local communities along the Bristol River Avon and its tributaries, between Bradford on Avon and Batheaston.

The festival says: “Just as many drops of water make a river, we want to harness the potential for individuals to come together with their communities to take positive action for our river.”
