Join us for this concert of uplifting and quirky music from an award-winning artist and the next generation of jazz musicians
We’re really excited that Wiltshire Youth Jazz Orchestra (WYJO) have been working with jazz trumpeter and composer Laura Jurd this term. Laura is a former BBC New Generation Artist, Ivor Composer Award winner and bandleader of Mercury-nominated group Dinosaur. She’s known for her joyful and innovative style and takes inspiration from everything from folk music to The Beatles and Stravinsky.
The concert will feature arrangements from Dinosaur’s latest album To The Earth (described as “a memorable meeting of eclectic contemporary musicianship and jazz’s deepest roots” – Jazzwise) and will showcase how our talented young musicians can more than hold their own alongside established professionals. A perfect afternoon!
